7 Ways to Power Up Your Initiative

WE ALL DREAM BIG.

Sometimes it ends right there, as a dream. Sometimes, we make a start but end up feeling overwhelmed, and our dreams stall.

Part of initiative is going the extra mile. Taking the step of going above and beyond what is your everyday. Taking the safe road and parking your initiative might be one thing getting in the way of what you truly want out of your life.

-DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT-

-PAY ATTENTION TO OPPORTUNITIES-

-BE PERSISTENT-

Initiative is an action, taken again and again. And again. It requires resilience and determination, to act without being told what to do, persist in the face of inertia and difficulty, so you achieve your dream.

HERE ARE MY FAVOURITE TIPS ON HOW TO GET UP AND GET ON.

1. POSITIVE THINKING

Positive thinking can make all the difference. Be positive, and watch your confidence soar. Work on your self-image and your self-talk, and imagine where you want to be. Build confidence with a positive mindset, and surround yourself with people that build you up.

2. TAKE A CHANCE

Taking chances is what life is all about, and to get ahead you need to take that risk. Think outside of your box, and take hold of your courage with both hands. Be open, be receptive, make change to take a step forward.

 3. LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES

Step up, and go beyond your typical day-to-day. Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you. Prepare for success, and always capitalize on opportunities. You may not want to step out of your comfort zone, but when you do, you will reap the rewards.

 4. BE OPEN-MINDED

One of the most important tools you have for taking the initiative is being open-minded. A closed mind limits your productivity. With an open mind, the sky is the limit.

5. TAKE CONTROL

Only you can take the initiative for yourself. No one is going to offer you opportunities if you don’t deserve them. Look for ways to help, offer to collaborate; making a difference to others will make a difference to your own esteem. In your personal life, it will boost your self-confidence. In your professional life, it will boost your wealth creation. In both, it will promote better things.

6. BE PERSISTENT

Initiative doesn’t happen overnight. Commit, every day, to contributing to some part of your goal. It might take a while to get there, you might be frustrated when you don’t get immediate results. Stick with it, step by step, and it will be worth it. NEVER GIVE UP.

 7. SET UP ROUTINES

There is ZERO value in trying to start something when you are going to stop in two weeks because you only did it once. Schedule 20 minutes a day, commit to those 20 minutes and do that for a month. Once you’ve seen the results, expand on it, slowly, in small portions, and keep it going. Consistency is the other half of the coin to initiative.

Are you open to new opportunities?

Take the initiative now.
